The Opportunity
As a Senior Quality Operations Specialist (internally known as Quality Assurance Specialist III), you are the strategic owner of the company’s quality frameworks. This role is about Systems & Process Architecture; operating with a high degree of independence, you determine the methods, procedures, and workflows for new assignments and strategic initiatives.
Our expectation is that this position will bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and ground-level operational execution, ensuring that our quality systems scale with our global growth. When hired, you will be the "Central Nervous System" that ensures data integrity, process velocity, and systemic accountability.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Strategic Process Ownership & Governance
- Workflow Design: Design, implement, and audit the foundational workflows that allow technical teams to work efficiently. You own the "Health" of these systems (e.g. Non-Conformance, MRB, RMAs, etc.). You are expected to identify strategic opportunities for systemic change and anticipate future challenges before they impact the business.
- Process Velocity: Beyond just managing records, you own the speed of the system. You facilitate cross-functional review meetings, such as MRB, acting as a project manager to break bottlenecks between Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production. You act as a lead in navigating difficult conversations with diplomacy, building alignment across diverse stakeholders during high-pressure events.
- Data Intelligence & The "Digital Thread"
- Predictive Risk Mitigation: Serve as the lead custodian of the product’s digital history. You transform raw ERP/PLM data into high-visibility intelligence, moving the department from reactive reporting to predictive risk mitigation.
- Business Case Development: You are responsible for translating complex quality data into actionable business cases that guide strategic leadership decisions and justify resource allocation. This includes performing deep-dive interpretations of field performance (RMAs) and linking them back to upstream processes (NPI/Design) to drive systemic root-cause fixes before they reach mass production.
- Continuous Improvement & Scalability
- Controlled Excellence & Innovation: Lead the continuous evolution of our quality operational standards. You are responsible for identifying gaps in our current administrative and logistical workflows and implementing scalable best practices through lean methodology and automation.
- The Strategic Pivot: Once a process reaches a state of "controlled excellence," you pivot your focus to the next high-priority organizational gap or business challenge. In this capacity, you drive significant innovations that challenge conventional thinking and apply industry best practices (such as new advances in digital twins or AI) to the LMI context.
- Systems Mastery & Audit Readiness
- Super-User Status: Act as the primary internal consultant and "Super User" for Quality modules within Netsuite (ERP) and Autodesk Fusion (PLM).
- Physical & Digital Traceability: Ensure an unbroken "Digital Thread" by performing regular systematic audits of quality inventory (MRB) to ensure physical reality perfectly matches digital documentation.
- Compliance Standards: Ensure all quality frameworks remain perpetually audit-ready and compliant with internal and external standards (ISO, IPC) without compromising process value.
- Cross-Functional Influence & NPI Partnership
- Negotiation & Leadership: Act as the primary liaison between Quality, R&D, and Operations. You navigate resource constraints and coordinate stakeholders to ensure quality standards are upheld during high-criticality events.
- NPI Lessons Learned: Serve as a core contributor to New Product Introduction (NPI) project groups. You leverage historical data (Field failures/Internal rejections) to provide "Lessons Learned" during the design and prototype phases to prevent legacy issues in new designs.
- Influencing without Authority: Use data-driven insights to convince technical teams to prioritize specific root-cause investigations, fostering a culture of accountability.
- Leadership & Coordination
- Functional Guidance: You coordinate the activities of cross-functional team members on quality projects. While you may not be a direct people manager, you provide technical guidance to others and contribute feedback for employee performance reviews.
- Experience: 8+ years in a role requiring data interpretation and operational influence (e.g., Quality Systems, Industrial Engineering, or Operational Excellence).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Certification: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is highly preferred (Green Belt required). ASQ Certified Quality Process Analyst (CQPA) or Auditor (CQA) is an asset.
- Technical Toolkit: Expert-level mastery of Enterprise ERP/PLM systems (specifically Netsuite and Autodesk Fusion) as tools for process enforcement, not just data entry.
- Mindset: A "Continuous Improvement" obsession. You possess the professional persistence to follow through until an action plan is fully executed.
