What will you do as a Junior Accountant - APAC?

The primary responsibilities of the Junior Accountant are in the area of financial accounting.  They are responsible for many aspects of accounting processes, the month end close,  financial statements and other reporting, and for Accounts Payable management.  They will maintain good relationships with external parties such as auditors and government departments.  The Junior Accountant is an integral part of the APAC Regional Finance Team and will report to the APAC Accounting Manager.

  • Monitor bank balances and ensure payments are processed efficiently; 
  • Prepare cash requirements analysis and arrange payment on a timely basis;
  • Review reimbursement and accounts payable from internal control and business growth perspective;
  • Process customer invoices and record cash receipts on a timely basis;
  • Prepare analysis of Accounts Payable aging and make payment proposals to the Accounting Manager; 
  • Perform monthly/quarterly/annual closing accurately and timely and in line with relevant policies;
  • Support preparation of annual audit and other work by consultants;
  • Support tax declaration and other ad-hoc financial reports;
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

What do you need to be successful?

  • You have a university degree in accounting, finance or business administration and a relevant professional designation or equivalent work experience;
  • 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in Finance, preferably gained in a MNC environment;
  • Experience with Netsuite and Google Docs/Sheets an asset;
  • Self-motivated individual with strong integrity and high responsibility;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
  • Self-motivated, a positive attitude and a results oriented approach to business.
