The Opportunity

As a Field Application Engineer, you are the "special ops" of our Applications-Sales Team, solving the most complex automation puzzles in Mexico’s manufacturing sector.

Reporting to the Technical Service Manager, you will join a high-performing team of twelve engineers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on the factory floor.

You will work in a tight-knit partnership with our Mexico Territory Manager. While our Territory Manager focuses on market expansion, you provide the deep technical expertise, custom code, and proof-of-concepts that close the deal. Together, you are the face of LMI across the region.

What You Bring (The Technical Core)

  • Multi-Modal Vision Expertise: Proven experience or strong theoretical knowledge in 3D Scanning (Laser Profilers, Snapshot) and 2D Vision Systems, including an understanding of optics, lighting, and image processing fundamentals.
  • Industrial Ecosystem Integration: Hands-on proficiency in integrating vision sensors with Industrial Robotics (Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa) and PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) using protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, or Modbus.
  • Advanced Programming & Scripting: Strong capability in C#, C++, or Python to develop custom tools, as well as experience with Windows-based industrial connectivity and API integrations.
  • The Engineer's Mindset: A degree in Mechanical, Computer, or Optical Engineering (or a relevant field) and a deep curiosity for how things work.
  • Strategic Communication: Fluent in Spanish and professional English. You can build technical trust with plant-floor engineers while translating complex challenges into business value for C-suite executives.
  • Mandatory Requirement: To demonstrate attention to detail and English proficiency required for global collaboration, all cover letters and resumes must be submitted in English for consideration.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • 30-90 Days: Master our flagship laser profiler technology and deliver your first high-stakes product demonstration.
  • 12 Months: Act as the regional expert, independently handling full-scale product integrations and writing custom software code to solve integration challenges.

The LMI Advantage

  • High-Impact Autonomy: Cover a massive territory with ~50% travel, acting as the technical authority for industrial giants.
  • Total Transparency: We value your time and discuss compensation early in the screening process.
  • Strategic Relocation: While you can start anywhere in Mexico, we provide relocation support to the industrial hub of Querétaro.
