LMI Technologies is a leader in 2D and 3D inline inspection solutions including our flagsihp Gocator Smart Sensors with innovative built-in measurement and IO capabilities. Our products are used in a wide range of markets, ranging from micron level inspection of medical and electronic components to large multi-scanner solutions for the lumber, packaging and logistics.

As a Technical Product Manager (Hardware & Accessories) you will be responsible for driving LMI's growth through the development, sourcing, and implementation of new and successful products and features that meet our customers' needs.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about understanding our customers' challenges and have prior experience sourcing and implementing partnerships with 3rd party suppliers. Strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate with stakeholders from numerous departments is a must. Experience with embedded electronics, machine vision, electro-optical systems, and/or 3D measurement is an asset.

  • Translate high level product requirements into technical specifications
  • Coordinate the implementation of new products and accessories with a wide variety of stakeholders including the development, sales, marketing, and support teams
  • Track and provide regular updates on project status and user feedback, including presentations to internal and external customers as required
  • Review proposed solutions with stakeholders to ensure that the resulting solution addresses customer and market needs
  • Facilitate technical discussions between various groups, including complex trade-offs studies, to ensure that optimal path forward and clear communication
  • Examine a wide range complex problems and propose innovative and creative solutions to meet business needs
  • International travel as required (typically < 3 times per year). 
  • Other duties as required

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering in a related field (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Physics)
  • Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary product development environment, including customer facing interactions
  • 3-5 years experience of project/product management in hardware development, preferably with experience managing 3rd party suppliers
  • Experience with embedded electronics, machine vision, electro-optical systems, and/or 3D measurement is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical issues to a wide audience 
  • Proven creative problem solving and decision making skills
  • Experience with Jira, MS Office, Google docs
  • Familiarity with programming languages and data analysis (e.g. C++, C#, Python, Matlab)
  • Experience with Purchasing/Supply and B2B is an asset

Salary Range: $90,400 to $128,820 + Eligibility for Profit Sharing Program Participation (pending successful completion of probationary period and based on business performance)

  • This is a hybrid position based out of our Burnaby, BC headquarters. To support our collaborative model, preference will be given to local candidates that are able to work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
