LMI‌ Technologies is currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced and qualified Purchaser ‌to‌ join our Purchasing ‌Team. Experience in electronics, optics, and machined parts is considered an asset. The Purchaser will be responsible for end to end supply chain activities for their assigned portfolio of parts, some of these are listed below. 

The Purchaser will report to the Purchasing Manager while working closely with other Purchasers and teams. 
 
  • Conducts‌ ‌all‌ ‌purchasing‌ ‌activities‌ ‌in‌ ‌accordance‌ ‌with‌ ‌QMS ‌requirements.‌ ‌
  • Generates and‌ ‌issues‌ ‌all‌ ‌Purchase‌ ‌Order‌ ‌(PO),‌ ‌carefully‌ ‌considering‌ ‌applicable‌ ‌quality‌ ‌clauses‌ ‌to‌ ‌ensure‌ ‌LMI‌ ‌requirements‌ ‌for‌ ‌purchased‌ ‌product‌ ‌are‌ ‌clear according to MRP requirements.‌ ‌
  • Work with R&D in the development of new products, vendors, service offerings and strategies within your portfolio of parts. 
  • Monitors‌ ‌goods‌ ‌delivery‌ ‌ensuring‌ product is ‌on‌ ‌time‌ and meets the quality requirements.‌ ‌
  • Constantly‌ ‌evaluates‌ ‌suppliers‌ ‌based‌ ‌on‌ ‌their‌ ‌quality‌ ‌and‌ ‌on-time‌ ‌delivery‌ ‌performance‌ ‌and‌ ‌updates‌ ‌management ‌with‌ ‌supplier’s‌ ‌performance‌ ‌analysis.‌ ‌
  • Manages‌ ‌Non-Conforming‌ ‌materials‌ ‌and‌ ‌works‌ ‌with‌ ‌suppliers‌ ‌to‌ ‌identify‌ ‌and‌ ‌eliminate‌ ‌quality‌ ‌issues.‌ ‌
  • Maintains‌ optimal ‌ stock ‌ levels ‌ by ‌ reviewing and updating system data.
  • Ensures‌ ‌that‌ ‌technical‌ ‌documentation,‌ ‌product‌ ‌configuration‌ ‌and‌ ‌specification‌ ‌provided‌ ‌to‌ ‌suppliers‌ ‌are‌ ‌complete,‌ ‌accurate‌ ‌and‌ ‌up-to‌ ‌date.‌ ‌
  • Promptly‌ ‌notifies‌ ‌suppliers‌ ‌of‌ ‌changes‌ ‌introduced‌ ‌by‌ ‌Engineering‌ ‌Change‌ ‌Orders.‌ ‌
  • Manages‌ ‌status‌ ‌and‌ ‌update‌ ‌purchase‌ ‌order‌ ‌and‌ ‌vendor‌ ‌related‌ ‌information‌ ‌in‌ ‌Netsuite‌ ‌database.‌ ‌
  • Proactively‌ ‌contributes‌ ‌to‌ ‌and‌ ‌implements‌ ‌continuous‌ ‌improvement‌ ‌initiatives.‌ ‌
  • Administers parts being purchased through alternative supply methods.
  • Adheres‌ ‌to‌ ‌LMI‌ ‌Employee‌ ‌Policy‌ ‌Manual.‌ ‌

Education and Qualification

  • Minimum of 3 years purchasing experience or training in supply chain. ‌
  • Relevant post secondary education - degree, diploma or designation.
  • Experience‌ ‌with‌ ‌ERP‌ ‌systems, previous MRP experience preferred.
  • Experience‌ ‌with‌ ‌Quality‌ ‌Management‌ ‌System‌.
  • Solid‌ ‌interpersonal‌ ‌skills‌ ‌to‌ ‌communicate‌ ‌appropriately‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌team‌ ‌environment.‌
  • Solid computer skills (Google sheets, docs, Gmail) experience preferred but will consider relevant Microsoft Office experience.

Salary Range 

  • $56,800 - $80,940 + Eligibility for Profit Sharing Program Participation (pending successful completion of probationary period and based on business performance) OR Commission plan.

  • This is a hybrid position based out of our Burnaby, BC headquarters. To support our collaborative model, preference will be given to local candidates that are able to work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
