Position Summary
Reporting to the Managing Director of Liberty Robotics, this Business Development Manager position is a high-impact, "hunter" role dedicated to driving revenue growth within the European market for the Material Handling industry. The strategic priority for the 2026 calendar year is to proactively identify and develop partnerships with system integrators, laying the critical groundwork to ensure significant revenue realization in the following year. Supported by the sales and engineering teams, the Business Development Manager will focus on long-term market penetration and ecosystem building.

Key Accountabilities and Strategic Objectives
  • European Market Expansion: Drive revenue growth across the European market, specifically targeting the Material Handling industry and related manufacturing sectors.
  • 2026 Strategic Partner Development: Focus the 2026 calendar year on identifying, engaging, and developing strategic partnerships with System Integrators (SIs) to lay the groundwork for significant realized revenue in 2027.
  • New Customer Acquisition: Identify and cultivate high-value relationships across OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and manufacturers where Liberty Robotics’ solutions are not currently utilized.
  • Solution Discovery: Work consultatively with customers and integrators to uncover complex automation challenges that can be solved through advanced robotic vision technology.
  • Market & Application Identification: Proactively search for new application areas, industrial processes, and plant locations to expand the company’s footprint within the Material Handling ecosystem.
  • Tenacious Prospecting: Maintain a proactive and results-oriented approach to lead generation, ensuring a consistent and healthy sales pipeline through persistent follow-up and engagement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the application engineering and sales support teams to provide technical insights and meet established growth targets.
  • Professional Representation: Utilize exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to represent the company at industry events and within strategic business networks.
Typical Duties, Activities, Responsibilities
  • Strategic Market Development: Create, maintain, and execute a strategic plan to develop and grow sales across the European market, specifically targeting the Material Handling industry.
  • 2026 Partner Ecosystem Building: Proactively identify, recruit, and develop new System Integrators (SIs) to introduce Liberty Robotics’ robotic vision technology, ensuring a robust partner network is in place to realize revenue in 2027.
  • Targeted Prospecting: Lead the sales effort to develop new accounts within the assigned European regions, focusing on OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and large end users.
  • Industry Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of the European Material Handling and automation markets to provide actionable reports on trends, competitive activity, and economic factors.
  • Account Penetration: Create growth within existing accounts by identifying new application areas and automation challenges that can be solved with robotic vision solutions.
  • Technical & Product Mastery: Maintain an in-depth knowledge of LMI Technologies and Liberty Robotics product capabilities, limitations, and the specific application needs of the Material Handling sector.
  • Professional Networking: Establish and maintain relationships with professional associations, strategic business partners, and networks to promote Liberty Robotics' industry presence.
  • Collaboration & Marketing: Interact with the marketing team to coordinate trade shows and initiatives across Europe; work with R&D and Product Management to bring new technology to market based on customer feedback.
  • Reporting & Travel: Travel as required to customer sites, industry events, and management meetings; provide regular "statement of requirement" reports to executive leadership.
Education & Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional business development experience working with OEMs, System Integrators, or Distributors.
  • Industry Expertise: Specific experience with industrial machine vision, robotic vision systems, automation, or industrial software is required. Experience in the Material Handling industry is preferred.
  • Market Dynamics: Deep understanding of the OEM, Tier-1, and Integrator relationship dynamic and how to navigate complex capital equipment sales.
  • Education: Engineering or Commerce Degree, or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • Language Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and German are essential for this Europe-based role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of 3D machine vision and related products, combined with strong computer skills.
  • Strategic Execution: Proven ability to develop strategic plans for sales growth with evidence of successful execution and "tenacious" lead follow-up.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills; proven problem-solving abilities; and a self-motivated, results-oriented approach to business.
  • Independence & Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work independently to manage a broad European territory while contributing effectively to a global team environment.
