At LMI our staff work passionately toward the common goal of designing and delivering innovative 3D machine vision solutions to OEMs and System Integrators. Our customers rely on our cost-effective 3D sensor technologies that deliver the best results in even the most challenging 3D inline inspection applications.

As a Systems Quality Specialist, you will be a key hands-on expert within our Apps/Tech team, reporting to the Software Team Lead. You will be a true advocate for the end-user, ensuring our software is rock-solid before it reaches our customers.

This is a hybrid role for a pragmatic, detail-oriented quality professional who excels at finding complex, elusive bugs. The ideal candidate is an expert Systems Quality Specialist who takes initiative to automate testing using Python scripting, leverages network analysis tools, and uses AI tools effectively to make their testing more powerful and efficient.

You will join a balanced team, collaborating closely with developers to guard our product quality.

Core Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Test Execution:
  • Triage, validate, and reproduce reported issues; clearly document bug reports and verify fixes from the development team, sending work tickets back to development when necessary.
  • Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans for our front-end software, SDKs, and backend features.
  • Become a subject matter expert in testing our complex industrial control protocols (e.g., Modbus, PROFINET, Ethernet IP) to ensure seamless integration on factory floors.
  • Act as the team's network specialist, using tools like Wireshark and TCPdump to analyze network packets, diagnose communication flaws, and find bugs that others can't.
  • Proactively develop and maintain Python scripts to automate stability, performance, and data validation tasks.
  • Leverage modern AI tools and techniques to enhance testing effectiveness and efficiency.
Collaboration & Process:
  • Work closely with developers to understand new features, identify risks, improve test coverage, and reduce "escape bugs."
  • Demonstrate strong ownership, driving complex testing projects to completion.
  • Mentor other team members and lead peer reviews on test plans and bug reports.
  • Proactively contribute to and implement continuous improvement initiatives in our QA processes.
